Opossum

Andy | Friday, March 23, 2012 | Best Blogger Tips

This is the first wild opossum I have ever seen in Ontario. According to the Ontario Ministry of Natural Resources although native to the southeastern USA., these marsupials have progressively moved northward and are now common through most of southern Ontario. Some have linked global warming with their northern expansion. Unfortunately this gal (guy?) did not make it across the road alive.

Monday Murals - Spooner's Garage.

Andy | Monday, March 19, 2012 | Best Blogger Tips

Artist: Phillip Woolf. Painted in October 1992 at 2340 and 2348 Kingston Road Scarborough The unique "double" mural, painted on facing walls by Phillip Woolf, depicts two eras in the life of Spooner's Garage. Built in 1926 and rebuilt in 1947, the garage was located on the south side of Kingston Road in Cliffside Village. Owner Art Spooner kept the business alive during the depression of the 1930s by offering a variety of services such as driving lessons, a restaurant and a 24-hour towing service. For a few years a tame bear kept on the property was a popular local attraction. I'm linking to Monday Mural.

Hay And Tractor

Andy | Wednesday, March 07, 2012 | Best Blogger Tips

I have seen lots of hay bales left in the fields over winter. I thought that the damp wet weather would ruin them. When it comes to things like this, the farmer knows best.
