History: Camp 30, is a collection of 18 buildings on 40 hectares of rural land located near Bowmanville east of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was the only one used by the Allies to house captured high-ranking Nazi officers.
It was originally built in 1925 as a training school for delinquent boys. In August 1941, the Department of National Defence announced it was taking over the site to convert it into a PoW camp for Nazi German officers.
Since the war, Camp 30 has served as a reform school, a private Catholic school and an Islamic school. It currently lies in a state of decay.
The gates are there to prevent people from driving their vehicles onto the property. It is so easy to just walk around them. PS: There is a lack of "No Trespassing" signs to be seen.****************************************
There have been attempts to prevent entry into the buildings but it has not stop some people from forcing their way in.****************************************
Making our way around to the rear of the building we found a entrance that lacked a door.****************************************
Down in the basement, laying loose on it's hinges, the doorway leads to another room.****************************************
This is the only room down there.****************************************
My granddaughters decided to remain on the outside.
