Is it just me or has anyone else notice how this vine is spreading in Ontario? Virginia Creeper Vine is not an invasive plant but it certainly can be considered aggressive. The vines can reach at least 50 feet in length. It can climb just about any vertical surface: trees, telephone poles, fences and walls. Left unchecked, Virginia creeper vines have the potential to overwhelm their host tree, but they are less of a problem than kudzu or wild grapevine.

I wouldn't know what that was like, here in OK if we get green anything we are just thrilled it survived our hot/dry climate =)
ReplyDeleteJust be thankful you do not have the invasion that southern US has with kudzu. Had they know what a problem it would become they would never have imported it from Japan.
