The photo is a drive-by and I have no info on the artist. It's located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The mural depicts almost every major historic event of the city. Showing the First Nation Peoples, British conquest of the French, eviction of the French, two world wars, the Halifax explosion, etc.
I'm linking to Monday Mural.
Yes one picture can tell more then thousand words. Great mural here Andy.
ReplyDeleteYou are right S.C. Pictures have a lot to say.
DeleteWhat a lot is going on in this mural! Of course, if it is depicting many historic events of the city, it should be packed full! Very nice - I like the way they have the progression...
ReplyDeleteFortunately, there are artist that want to preserve the past in murals.
DeleteThere is a lot to see, someone really liked to paint.
ReplyDeleteI like to paint but I don't have the talent.
DeleteThey've really covered a lot of history there! THis is the kind of mural I could spend some time looking at. Nice shot!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great historical mural. And that's a great drive by shot.
ReplyDeleteImagine the challenge of painting the entire history of a city onto one small space. Kudos to the artist. A striking composition. And to sharp eyed you for snapping it while driving by (very slowly, I'm sure. haha). Thanks for contributing to Monday Mural.
ReplyDeleteThis colourful historical mural is beautifully framed by the grey stone wall... it draws you in.
ReplyDeleteYou live in (or near) a vibrant area of the city, Andy! There were a lot more fun and interesting murals in Kensington Market... I clicked a few more, but may not have time to post them any time soon... busy times ahead.
What a great mural! I like that it tells the story of the city! :)
ReplyDeleteAll that history in one mural - incredible!
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the best nurals I have ever seen@
ReplyDeleteI can't take credit for the mural but I can take credit for the photo.
DeleteWow - I am with RedPat, that is a lot of history in a few square feet. What fun.
ReplyDeleteWow! That's a lot in such a small space.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Birdman. They crammed a lot into the old doorway. Great capture though with wonderful color.
