A dreary pedestrian underpass is now a work of art thanks to London's Community Art Project. Twenty students from Rick Hansen and White Oaks public schools in grades 7 and 8 collaborated with local mural artist, Andrew Gillet. This side is painted a cool blue with orcas.
I'm linking to Monday Mural.
A fine effort- is there one on the other side too? I can imagine a bird spreading its wings.
ReplyDeleteYup... there one on the other side. You will have to wait until next Monday to see it.
DeleteThis is just so incredibly beautiful!!!! More schools should take this kind of initiative with their students.
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful work, surely brightens things up.
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeletebeware those acorns!
ReplyDeleteThat is really well done. Looking forward to seeing the other side!
ReplyDeleteWow, very impressive. I like the way they decided to have few figures but made them monumental to match the size of the space. Why orcas? The fierce eagle in front of the maple leaf is cool. I have an affection for oak leaves and acorns, so this makes me extra happy. Waiting for next week's reveal. Thanks, Andy, for contributing to Monday Mural.
ReplyDeletewonderful wonderful wonderful
ReplyDeletePlease have a good Tuesday.

ReplyDeleteThe mural is beautiful. So is the photo. I love the composition of the shot.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. I will inform my local politicians about this concept.
ReplyDeleteClearly, orcas like to investigate underground passages. They are beautiful!
