Whitevale Bridge
The Whitevale Bridge has suffered from at least three separate occasions of flooding. In 1929 a heavy flood completely washed out the newly built bridge. In October 1954, the mill dam and the approach to the Whitevale Bridge (not the entire bridge) went out due to Hurricane Hazel when Duffins Creek overflowed. Finally, in July 2008 the concrete bridge suffered minor damage when heavy rains washed out a small section.

The Clouds Were On My Side
This is one of those photos where I happened to be in the right place at the right time. A cloud was passing in front of the sun filtering out much of the bright light and shining a beam on the swans.
I'm Linking to Weekly Top Shot.

Monday Mural - Lighthouse
A simple mural with no credits or info. It's located in the Town Of Ajax, Ontario. Before I became interested in photographing murals I drove past this one hundreds of times and never noticed it. Things have changed and it's not too often that miss a mural any more.
I'm linking to Monday Mural.

Monday Mural - The Bluffs
Artist: Risto Turunen, October 1992. Elizabeth Simcoe, wife of Lieutenant-Governor John Graves Simcoe was so impressed with the sight of the Bluffs (located on the north shore of Lake Ontario) as she saw them from a small boat, that she convinced her husband to name the area after a town in England with similar cliffs. She wrote in her diary on August 4, 1793 "...after rowing a mile we came within sight of what is named in the map the highlands of Toronto. The shore is extremely bold and has the appearance of chalk cliffs...we talked of building a summer residence there and calling it Scarborough." If you are wondering why the cars are there. it's because the mural is located in a used car lot. I'm linking to Monday Mural.
