Transit
Once a common sight as the last car on a freight train, having kitchen and sleeping facilities for the train crew. The caboose use has declined and they are seldom seen on trains. Most of them like this one, have become collectors items.
Nice to see this one has been repurposed!
ReplyDeleteWhen I was a kid, I'd always watch for the caboose on the end of a passing train. It was fun to finally spot it. Too bad you don't see them anymore. Thanks for sharing this nice photo.
ReplyDeleteThis is a fine specimen!
ReplyDeleteNext to the engine, the caboose was the best part of the train.
ReplyDeleteI like to see the caboose- it means I can finally cross over the tracks! LOL! I do see them often around here, but I do like the engines best.
ReplyDeleteMy grandfather and my father-in-law both worked for CN on the boats in Newfoundland. As a kid (and even now, obviously) seeing a CN car always makes me think of my Grandad. Now you get to enjoy the graffitti instead of seeing great cars like this one when the train rolls past.
