I was out last night with the intent to photograph some Christmas lights. I arrived before dark and while waiting for the lights to be turned on, I heard sirens in the distance and noticed a large billow of smoke rising into the sky. I went back into my car and headed towards the smoke. Upon my arrival, the fire department were already on scene. The street was filled with smoke.

The was no shortage of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) or police. I did not see any injuries. Residents were taken to the house across the road for shelter.
Great on-the-scene reporting, Andy! I'm glad no one was injured and hope there was not much damage.
ReplyDeleteHow sad, and scary for the residents! I hope it wasn't to bad.
ReplyDeleteHow awful. This is a bad tine of year for fires (as in they seem to be more frequent)
ReplyDeleteThat is sad!
ReplyDeleteI wish you a Merry Christmas
It would seem the first responders got there in time.
ReplyDeleteGood reporting. have you an update?
Follow up: Two families lived in separate apartments. All eight residents escaped without harm, although three people were taken to the hospital for precautionary treatment.
ReplyDeleteNext door neighbours found themselves displaced by the fire also, since their home is connected as a semi-detached.
