This painting pays tribute to the circus, which rode the rails town to town, bringing a piece of joy to each resident of each town in it’s path. This painting was sponsored by the City Of St. Thomas, the 2000 Millennium Committee, the Downtown Development Board, and On Track. I have no info about the artist. I'm linking to Monday Mural.

ReplyDeleteThis is a nice mural...I remember the excitement of the circus when I was a child, living in a small town. That clown looks like he is standing outside the mural!

ReplyDeleteIt's hard to imagine city fathers nowadays letting untethered elephants walk down Main Street. But I can easily imagine how exciting it must have been when the circus came to town. Except for the clowns. Can't deal with clowns. But the rest must have seemed so exotic and entrancing. Cool nostalgic mural, Andy. Thanks for being part of Monday Mural.
