Monday Mural - Halifax

Andy | Monday, August 13, 2012 | Best Blogger Tips

The photo is a drive-by and I have no info on the artist. It's located in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. The mural depicts almost every major historic event of the city. Showing the First Nation Peoples, British conquest of the French, eviction of the French, two world wars, the Halifax explosion, etc.
I'm linking to Monday Mural.

  2. What a lot is going on in this mural! Of course, if it is depicting many historic events of the city, it should be packed full! Very nice - I like the way they have the progression...

  6. Imagine the challenge of painting the entire history of a city onto one small space. Kudos to the artist. A striking composition. And to sharp eyed you for snapping it while driving by (very slowly, I'm sure. haha). Thanks for contributing to Monday Mural.

  7. This colourful historical mural is beautifully framed by the grey stone wall... it draws you in.

You live in (or near) a vibrant area of the city, Andy! There were a lot more fun and interesting murals in Kensington Market... I clicked a few more, but may not have time to post them any time soon... busy times ahead.

  13. I agree with Birdman. They crammed a lot into the old doorway. Great capture though with wonderful color.
