Can someone explain how or why a winding path of grass like this one could exist in a ploughed field? Is possible the farmer is also an artist?

The green strip of grass is most likely a water source. Some US farmer conserve the land by ploughing up to a buffered zone. Sometimes they are required to maintain a natural waterway. Over the years some have tiled their property to drain more efficiently and may have eliminated the low area runoff. These are guesses of course.
