Pond Hockey

Andy | Tuesday, January 08, 2013 | Best Blogger Tips

When it comes to pond hockey there is no Zamboni to clear the ice. It's done the old fashion way with manpower... or in this case woman power.

  2. p.s. I thought of you when I posted that pic of the bus terminal restaurant. I don't think it has changed much in many years - I was last there in August and it seems to still be a popular spot.

  4. Oh, reminds me of when I was a kid, we had a creek behind the house that froze in some spots that were large enough to skate on. All we needed was a shovel and our skates on for an afternoon of fun. Thanks for the reminder!!!

  6. Great photo! I'm glad I'm not in snow, though.

Here's how I've updated my post today: In response to one of my commenters, Andy, here's a link to what's in the news right now about TriMet. And let me make it totally clear, I do not work at TriMet. I use TriMet every time I leave the apartment, unless I'm going somewhere within walking distance, going somewhere in a Zipcar, or going somewhere with my sons or a friend who has a car. I find all space associated with TriMet to be perfect for people watching, vehicle watching, and therefore, taking photos.

    1. It was interesting to watch. It is a large pond and there were 4 games happening.

  8. That is how my boys played hockey. Also in fields in my time we took the shovel and kept it cleaned. Big fields seemed to freeze for us and we just kept it clean. No fuss and free, free. And now water hose to get it started.

Oh this is a lovely picture Andy. It feezes its self it looks. Same as the shore line where I live in the country.
