Exterior wall mural titled "Passing Glances". Located at the corner of 308 Adelaide St. West, at Widmer St., in Toronto, Canada, painted in 1986 by muralist Bill Wrigley. Thats sad, it should have been restored, it looked brilliant in the original
ReplyDeleteNice mural. A pity that it is fading away. But yes who can and will provide restoration ?
ReplyDeleteUntil I checked the original, I didn't even recognize the streetcar! I think he should be commission to redo the wall.
ReplyDeleteThe colours have faded so much. The streetcar is no longer red.
Deleteoh it's too bad that it is not being kept up. i like the muted colors...just kind of blends in nicely!
ReplyDeleteSuch a nice mural should be restored. I guess the part that is left would be hard to deface by taggers unless they bring a ladder.
ReplyDeleteI worked in the Hyatt and often passed my this mural. I think I have a photo of the original as well.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to see it redone.
A shame that such a wonderfully done piece is left to rot away.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame no one is taking care of it.
ReplyDeleteWonderfull, will be restaured

ReplyDeleteGreat that you included a link to the original. I was just thinking the other day how do they extend the life of murals?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful and nice mural, should really be restored, together with the whole house...
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the bottom half was in even worse shape than the top and that's why they painted over it? What a shame. I agree it should be redone (it seems this artists is still around?)
ReplyDeleteSad to see such nice murals fall into disrepair.
ReplyDeleteI do not understand why the mural is painted hide. it's a shame because irhe original was absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteFortunately this is left. And it is still beautiful.
It's a shame to see this mural in such a state. I imagine your weather takes a toll on all facades. Maybe in the ensuing years there have been developments in sealing wall paintings to help preserve them. Wonder what it would cost to restore what is left. Thanks for contributing to this week's Monday Mural.
